Projects

Convergence Design

I am working with a cross-functional team to build a new platform which provides a converged experience that can protect our customers’ data in both cloud (Microsoft 365, Azure, and etc) and on-premises environments within the same platform.

👩🏻‍🔧 my role: Design lead

💭 Problem: Users need to navigate through different Barracuda products and experiences in order to manage the backups of multiple data sources, which is confusing and overwhelming.

Search & Filter

I rolled out a game-changing search/filter design to help our users quickly find the data they are looking to recover.

💭 Problem: The current search/filter in our Restore page is simply not working, and as a result our users have to rely mostly on browsing to find the data they need to recover, which is frustrating and time consuming.

Enhanced Data Table

I reinvented the process for IT admins to browse and find data by replacing the miller column design with a drill-down data table, which significantly shorten the time to find data and provide a smooth browsing experience.

💭 Problem: Users often get frustrated when they go deep in the directory and the lack of sorting capability is slowing down users when they are trying to quickly find data to restore.

Revisions

I collaborated with designers cross products to reimagine the data visualization and reports table for Arcadia, which is aiming to provide more customization and data visibility to our users.

👩🏻‍🔧 my role: Design lead

💭 Problem: In order to find the correct version of a file/folder, users had to guess and jump to a point of time with the date picker countless times, hoping the date had the correct version they need to recover. The jumping through times design also caused high data storage costs.

Reporting

I collaborated with designers cross products to reimagine the data visualization and reports table for Arcadia, which is aiming to provide more customization and data visibility to our users.

👩🏻‍🔧 My role: UX Designer

💭 Problem: The Reporting experience are not unified across products at Barracuda, which causes confusion and frustration when users are trying to find a specific report in one product.

Alerts

I crafted an alert management tool to help users manage in product alerts and prioritize their daily tasks, which also reduced alert noise and fatigue

👩🏻‍🔧 My role: Design lead

💭 Problem: As a backup admin, users want to easily identify actionable issues with the backup system so that they can address them in a timely manner. But, users experience too much noise with email notifications and alerts on things that they don’t care about or are not actionable, leaving them feeling annoyed and overwhelmed.
